Epiphany is a Christian holiday that commemorates the baptism of Christ on the Jordan River and the appearance of God in the form of a dove and a voice: “This is my son, listen to him”. In Čačak, 110 competitors, including three girls, were registered for the removal of the frozen Epiphany cross from Western Morava, it was said today at the Mladost Sports Center, which organizes the event on January 19. The event, which takes place on Epiphany, was renewed in Čačak 14 years ago when three competitors took part in the removal of a frozen cross from Western Morava. The program for this year’s event begins with a liturgy in the Čačan church, continues with liturgies, swimming for the Epiphany Cross and ends with a Ceremonial Academy in the Great Hall of the House of Culture, in which the students of the Gymnasium, the local cultural and artistic society “Žele” and Biljana Krstić and her orchestra Bistrik will participate. In addition to the Mladost Sports Center, the Čačak National Museum and the House of Culture participate in organizing the event, and everything is under the auspices of the City of Čačak.
